登場時期が悪かったのかBlack Swift

OpenWrtな板が年々増えて来ていますが、出始め頃のAR9331板です。
出して来たのはBlack Swiftです。
Kickstarterで出資していた方も居るかもしれません。
日本では時期が悪かったのか盛り上がりに欠けました。
僕も起動はしたものの放置してしまってました。
が、OpenWrt/LEDEが日本でもようやく盛り上がり始めたので、再度ひっぱりだしてきました。

このサイズはかなり魅力なのですが、このサイズ比較ってあまりされてないですよね?
OpenWrt/LEDEで後発品がどんどん出てきているので、霞んでしますがBlack Swiftも忘れてはいけない。
最近多く使われている、MediaTekチップでは無く、Atherosチップが採用されている。
まだこの頃は、OpenWrtといえば、Atherosチップが鉄板だった。
スペックとしては、SoCがAtheros AR9331 400MHz、RAM 64MB、Flash 16MB。今となっては少し見劣りしてしまう。


Black Swift本体側のGPIOパターンのピッチは狭いので、簡単に動作確認するのが面倒だと思うかもしれないが、ちゃんとベース基板が存在した。
評価する手間が省けて嬉しい処だ。
勿論、Atheros AR9331といえば、OpenWrt/LEDEでサポートしているデバイスは多く存在する。
AR9331のOpenWrt/LEDE評価であれば、別のものでも事足りてしまう。
Black Swiftの良かったのは、Open schematics and PCB designだった事だろう。
年々、オープンハードの方向に向かっているので、方向性としては良かったのだが。。。
まぁ、AR9331を日本じゃ小売りされてないし、あまり役立たないのだが。。。深センでなら普通に入手できるらしいが。。。


microUSBから電源を取るタイプ。
最近実装されている事が多いUART変換は入っていない。
そのかわり一回り小さく仕上がってるともいえる。


何もない。
スッキリしたものだな。


管理画面を見てみようと思ったが、宣伝とも思える画面がしょっぱな出てきた。
https://www.unwireddevices.com/に行ける訳だが、今、LoRaWANとかをやっているようだ。
6LoWPANの文字も見えてワクテカする訳だが、文字がワカラン。
僕には読めないのでそっと閉じました。


設定画面に進むと、OpenWrt/Luciそのまま。
まだこの頃は、OpenWrtなデバイスで画面をフルカスタマイズした物は少なかったので、だろうなといった処。

Atheros AR9331については、OpenWrtでは情報が多いので、初めてOpenWrtするには良いかもしれない。
また、このサイズには魅力があります。


注意:Black Swiftは日本では認証が取得されていない為、そのまま電波出力を行うと電波法に抵触する恐れがあります。
評価等は、シールド環境等で行う必要があります。
