BS-U35WFは3.5 HDD内蔵可能なMT7620N搭載Linux箱

KIMAX BS-U35WF。
このタイプのWiFi Storageとうたっている製品は、RT5350FやMT7620N搭載のケースが多いのだが、RT5350FなのかMT7620Nなのかの判断がつきにくい。
MT7620Nが欲しいが、どっちが来るのかの判断が難しい。(今回はMT7620Nだったので、BS-U35WFは当たりらしい。)
※無線は日本では電波法により使用できません。(有線Ethernet利用を目的とした使用です。)

RAMが64MBと小さいのが惜しい処。
SoCは580MHz、十分と言えば十分。
とりあえず扱い易く純正ファームから書換え

KIMAX BS-U35WFを今回は選択しました。
2.5HDDのタイプとかもありますが、3.5HDDタイプを入手しました。
3.5HDDが余ってたので。。。


付属品もろもろ。
アンテナ、縦置き用スタンド、USB 3.0ケーブル、プラスドライバ、電源。


電源は中国向けプラグ。
使えないのでゴミ箱行きとなりました。


前面はプラ、壁面はメタル。
前面は無線用アンテナを張り付いています。
メタルで放熱もしています。
SoCも張り付けて放熱を考慮しています。(HDDの熱が廻るだけな気もしないですが。)


電源スイッチが付いてるのは少し嬉しい。
USBにワンセグチューナーを付けてワンセグ録画マシンにしてみてもオモシロイかもしれません。
スペック的にどうなのかは少し心配だけど。


12V 2Aですか。
常時稼働にはちょうどいいぐらいですかね。
パスワードがKIMAXとかいてるけど実際にはkimaxだった。(ユーザ名はそもそも入力箇所が無かった。。。)
ファームのバージョンが違うだけなのかサッパリわからん。


予想通りHDDが大半スペースを占めて、ちょびっとWiFi用の基板が入っているだけ。


メタルのカバーを外すと、SoC放熱を考慮しているのが解る。
基板に2枚構成。
SoC側は汎用的に作られたもの、ルータ等でも同じものを流用していると思われる。



コネクタで接続。
勿論、UARTもコネクタで出ているのでu-bootへのアクセスも可能。
が、u-bootにアクセスしなくても書換えできたので、開封する必要もなかった。


SoCはMT7620N。
Flashは25L12835F。(16MBあるのは嬉しい。こういったものでは8MBで十分なので容量ケチってるのもおおいので。)
本当にルータにUSB付けましただけの製品。
ファームもルータ機能にNAS機能付けただけで、普通にWiFiルータとしての機能が入ってた。
PPPoEも搭載してたり、どういった使用を想定しているのかよく解らないのがこの手の製品。(売れてるとも思えないけど)


インタフェース基板側は、普通にUSB経由で引っ張ってるだけ、思ってたよりは普通の出来。


SPI Flashは普通に25L12835F。
綺麗に全体を吸い出して中身を見てみる。
u-bootはMTK SDKの物を使用。uImageのヘッダーを見る限り、OpenWrtベース。
純正ファームもOpenWrtで、たいして吸い出しておく様なものは見当たらない。

Webインタフェースは独自に作成といった処。


今回とりあえず刺してみたHDDはこれ。
これを刺した状態で、消費電力は6W~7Wを推移。
まぁ、3.5HDDを刺していると考えれば良い感じですね。


勿論無線は使うと電波法に抵触するので有線Ethernetで利用する形になります。
元々、有線Ethernet目的に入手した箱なので、無線はそもそも使う気はない。


純正ファーム画面。
ファームのアップデート画面で、OpenWrt/LEDEのsysupgradeイメージが受け付けるので、何も考えずにLinux箱化が可能です。
USBメモリやSDカードとかはどうしても耐久が。。。HDD使いたいんだよね。が結構多いんですよ。


簡単にLEDEになりました。
本家には、まだOpenWrtにもLEDEにも入っていない模様。
LEDEにパッチは投稿された事がある模様だけど、再投稿が行われていない模様。
